Looking for a job can be a challenge, but imagine pounding the pavement when you hit retirement age. The AARP is offering a senior employment program to seniors look for employment. The program is available for seniors who are 55-years or older and live in Barton, Jasper, Newton or McDonald counties. Scotty Holman used the program to obtain a job at the Missouri Career Center as a receptionist. For seniors like him, getting back into the job market can be difficult. "Well its hard to get back into the mentality of it. The primary thing is that you have to be positive you can`t get down and you can`t let the fact that you`ve been laid off. It can overrule your life. You just can`t let it happen, you have to remain positive, said Holman. If you would like to learn more about the program you can call the AARP at (417)659-8100.
