Initial Plane Crash Report

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
The initial report on the plane crash that killed a Joplin man indicates the plane may not have had any technical problems. Dr. David Pattersons small Piper airplane went down in a field near Crestline Kansas almost two weeks ago. The initial report released today does not site a cause for the crash, but does begin to rule out technical problems. The NTSB report details all portions of the plane examined and says no evidence of a pre-existing condition with the plane`s engine or airframe could be detected. While this report seems to lean toward an outside factor that may have caused the crash, the report is not final. And it may be as long as six months before a final cause is determined.
