Joplin Police are helping to teach your children to say no to drugs. Joplin Police officers will be handing out information and coloring books to Joplin students about the dangers of drugs. The National Child Safety Council has provided the books at a cost of just under two dollars per child. It`s a price that several local businesses are helping to pay. "The message that is going to be reinforced through this monetary support and then through the information this is going to be passed out..it`s going to be beneficial to our youth. It`s going to be beneficial to our community and again the Police Department through the partnership with our businesses and the national child safety council. It`s gonna be a win, win situation for everyone,"said Joplin Police Chief Kevin Lindsey. If you would like to donate to the project, call the Joplin Police Department at 623-3131.
