One four state organization is helping less fortunate families during this easter season. The outreach house in Joplin is donating 25 easter baskets filled with food to area families. The baskets include ham, cereal, potatoes and special easter treats for kids. On average, the Outreach House assists 500 local families a month with volunteers helping to distribute the food and clothing. "I know what its like to be poor. And people need help and if we can do it and the parish is willing to supply the thing to do it then it`s fun we enjoy doing it,"said Kathleen Newberry, St. Peter`s Outreach House. If you would like to donate food or clothing to the Outreach House, it is located at 805 Byers in Joplin. The facility is open from Wednesday to Friday,10am to noon. The phone number is 206-2588.
