Rolling Back the Levy Tax

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
You may have to pay fewer taxes to the county on your next form. The Jasper County Commissioners are talking about rolling back the levy tax. Currently it is 10 cents for every $100 of assest property. The new rollback would cut it down to eight and a quater cents. The commissioners are also currently adjusting property assessment numbers due to many property owners complaining about them being too high. A public hearing is scheduled next Thursday at 10 am in the Carthage Court House to discuss the levy rollback.
