Route 66 Overtime

Updated: January 7, 2009
Work done by Jasper County Sherriff`s duputies after the recent tornadoes will not count against them in their overtime re-payment. Deputies are currently working off 168 hours of overtime for which they were mistakenly paid twice during last year`s Route 66 Music Festival. So far 64 overtime hours have been worked as repayment. Now, FEMA representatives say the 260 overtime hours which were worked during the tornado disaster will not count toward the re-payment. According to Sherriff Bill Pierce, FEMA will cover the cost for those overtime hours. Officers began repaying the overtime money in April. Reported By: Brad Douglas
