Hartman in Court

A Joplin murder suspect wants his trial moved out of Jasper County.
Attornies for 61-year old William Hartman have requested a change of venue in the case.
Hartman is charged with first degree murder in connection to the beating death of 58-year-old Alfred Smith.
Police say the two men were arguing when Hartman hit the victim in the head multiple times with a large rock. Smith`s body was found lying in a ditch the next morning.
Hartman has pleaded not guilty to the charges. The judge has taken the change of venue request under advisement. Hartman remains in custody.
