Just weeks after a SARS scare in Southwest Missouri, Jasper County Health Officials have received test results. Officials with the Jasper County Health Department report that initial lab results for two Jasper County residents do not confirm the presence of sars. Local health officials say three Jasper County residents went into voluntary isolation as a precautionary measure a few weeks ago. Moehr says one of those three had come into contact with a person from the Toronto, canada area who was believed to be ill. The two other residents had contact with the first resident... who was treated and released from a local hospital.
Reports say the center for disease control requires a second sample to confirm the initial testing.
The sample is said to be collected 21 days from the symptom onset and analyzed by the CDC. We`ll bring you the latest information at a press conference slated for 2:45 here at the southwest missouri community alliance office.
