Despite Missouri Governor Bob Holden`s decision to veto the education budget finances for one local college have been approved. Missouri Southern State College`s Board of Regents has approved a budget for next year. School officials say the budget can be ammended later if developing actions in the state legislature warrant a change.
At Thursday night`s meeting, the board also extended Missouri Southern President Julio Leon`s contract another three years. The board also has a new President. Dr. Charles McGinty was recognized as the new board president. He was appointed to the board in 2003.
