Federal Funding Denied

The federal government denies full funding to area Missouri victims affected by the early May tornadoes. Missouri Governor Bob Holden and members of Missouri`s congressional delegation had requested full funding to help pay the expected $20 million in costs to the state for tornado damage. Now state and local governments will have to pick up the slack and pay 25 percent of the costs, which is estimated to be anywhere from $2 to $4 million. Holden says he expects the state to proivde close to $2 million in funding. He is expcted to work with state electrical cooperatives to help provide the local funding matches. Reported by: Ryan Loyd
