Road Work

Updated: January 7, 2009
Motorists can soon expect a travel delay near a busy Joplin intersection. Some lanes near 32nd and Rangeline will be closed this week for concrete paving and the continued installation of storm sewers and curbs. The eastbound driving lane of 32nd street will be closed from Food 4 Less to Continental Auto Mall. The northbound driving lane of Rangeline will be closed from Drury Inn to Motel Six. Those improvements also include adding two left-turn lanes on all four sides of the intersection which will mean a shorter wait at red lights. Construction work also adds a right turn lane from northbound Rangeline onto eastbound along with sidewalks and pedestrian traffic signals. Motorists should expect those closures from seven pm to seven am starting tomorrow. The speed limit will be reduced to thirty-five miles per hour on Rangeline and thirty miles per hour on thirty-second street. The two point one million dollar improvements are expected to be completed by October sixth, two-thousand three. Reported By:Janae Menz
