Baxter Soldier Comes Home

A local soldier who fought in the war in Iraq is finally home. Navy petty officer Jim Hamilton has been stationed in Iraq for the last seven months. But got a warm welcome home today. The Baxter Springs resident was brought to town by a motorcade of police officers and fire fighters. More than 30 people were waiting to welcome him home. Hamilton was part of an elite naval group which was one of the first groups stationed in Iraq. Hamilton says it`s his memories of home and family that kept him going during the war.
