Cherokee County Jail Bids

Four state county commissioners are hoping to make a decision on the fate of their proposed new jail. Cerokee County,Kansas Commissioners had hoped to receive more information on the bids today. Commissioners say as part of the bid they want to buy the bricks for the new jail from a company in Wier. Officials with the county say they have received three bids, but they are all above the original proposed cost. The comissioners will discuss accepting a bid with the architect on July 7th.
