A major shakeup in another city`s government last night. At the Galena City Council meeting on Monday,some council members voted to fire city manager Jack Murray. After a letter was read by Darrell Shoemaker, citing reasons why Murray should be dismissed a 3-2 vote was taken to relieve Murray of his duties immediately. It`s a decision not everyone agrees with.
Murray had only six months until retirement. Mayor Hardman says city clerk Debbie Kitch has been asked to fill the City Manager`s role until a replacement is found.
