Coleman Pay Stops

A local Sheriff`s Captain who was suspended four months ago will no longer receive paid leave. Captain Tony Coleman was suspended in February from the Jasper County Sheriff`s Department after being charged with misdemeanor stealing. After a recommendation by the county commission, Sheriff Bill Pierce suspended county pay for Coleman. Coleman is accused of stealing money collected for the Salvation Army during last summer`s Route 66 Music Festival. A trial date for Coleman has been set for September 16th.
