Updated: January 7, 2009
Four state officials scrutinize their response to the may tornados that ripped through the area. At four p-m on May fourth Crawford county sent out it`s storm spotters. They were the first people to spot the tornado that would soon affect over 200 hundred homes. Officials with the county say it`s their storm spotters who allowed the various agencies to respond so well. "We basically wanted to look at the total operations of the tornado and how the agencies perforned and see if there`s always room for improvements. We`ve seen several things we would do differently and we`re going to do some planning in that regard,"said Sheriff Sandy Horton,Crawford County. Sixteen different agencies throughout all of southeast Kansas joined in the itique this morning. Overall everyone seemed to be pleased with the response to the tornados, but say there are things they`ll do differently should there be a next time. Reported By:Jennifer Grannan
