Four state parents have stepped up to the plate to make sure their children can be part of the team. Parents in the Carthage School District have raised about 13-thousand dollars in order to ensure their children will be able to play volleyball and football this upcoming school season. Last month the Carthage R-9 school district had to pull the plug on their 7th and 9th grade sports programs due to state budget cuts. Superintendent Dr. Gary Reed says the board has already agreed to accept donations to continue the sports program. And tonight`s meeting should guarantee football and volleyball continues.
