Bridge Collapses

A bridge collapses in the four state, injuring several area construction workers. The bridge is located in Cherokee County, one mile west of the Missouri border on Spring River. Officials say the incident happened late this afternoon. Reports indicate there are no fatalities related to the collapse, but several workers who were on site during construction of the bridge were hurt. One man was taken by helicopter to a local hospital to be treated for minor injuries, while several others were transported by EMS units to nearby hospitals. Currently the bridge is under construction for repairs and other work. We`ll have the latest for you tonight on your Hometown News at Ten and Hometown Today, beginning at 5:30 a.m.
