Kleypas Court Costs

The cost to re-sentence a convicted killer may cost county leaders a chunk of money. Crawford County leaders say it could cost more than 100 thousand dollars to re-sentence Gary Kleypas of Pittsburg,Kansas.
Kleypas was convicted and sentenced to death for the 1996 murder of Pitt State student Carrie Williams. That ruling was overturned last year by the Kansas Supreme Court citing faults with a jury verdict form.
The cost of Kleypas` initial trial cost the county almost 250 thounsand dollars. Kleypas is scheduled to be re-sentenced on October 7th.
