Updated: January 7, 2009
A four state Interim Sheriff says he`s running for the office as an independent. Archie Dunn has until August 27th to get the 800 signatures needed to be put on the ballot. Dunn took over the position of Interim Sheriff last month when Bill Pierce retired. He also entered the race for the republican nomination for sheriff, but lost the vote to Greg Dagnan. Dunn says he didn`t orginally plan to run, but changed his mind once he was on the job. Voters will decide on a new Jasper County Sheriff on September 30th in a special election.
