Center Creek Accident

An accident on an area bridge sends one car into the water below. The accident happened around 2:30 this afternoon on Highway 1-71 on the Center Creek bridge between Carterville and Carthage. Officers say the driver lost control of his vehicle, which rolled several times before falling over the bridge. A 60-year old man who was driving the vehicle was taken by helicopter to an area hospital. Officers say this is the third accident at this site this year alone.
