R-8 Enrollment Up

School is in full swing and the numbers at Joplin elementary schools are up. The district has seen an increase in several elementary schools. To help steady the influx, school officials have balanced classrooms and hired teachers aides. Joplin senior high school is down by about 100 students this fall. The total enrollment for the district this month is seven thousand seventy students. Administrators say the numbers are preliminary due to students enrolling and leaving each day.
