Doctor Kyle Kennedy says, if you're having stroke like symptoms, severe chest pain, or shortness of breath- take a break from the daily grind and head straight to the hospital.
Stroke like symptoms can present themselves throughout your body. "A sudden on-set of weakness, numbness, difficulty speaking" says, Kennedy.
While pain in your chest can quickly be fatal. "It could be a heart attack, it could be a blood clot in the lung."
Kennedy says these three symptoms can only be properly evaluated in the Emergency Room. "It seems to be more common in the older generation where they don't want to bother somebody or they dismiss the symptoms."
And two groups with a high risk for a larger problem than they realize- are women and diabetics. "Women are more likely to present with a-typical symptoms. They may come in with shortness of breath and they maybe having the same size of heart-attack as a man who comes in and is having crushing chest pains."
