Eagle Picher Settlement

A Joplin company reaches an agreement in a sexual discrimination lawsuit. Eagle-Picher technologies will pay 200-thousand dollars to eight women to settle sexual discrimination claims. According to the lawsuit filed by the equal employment opportunity commission, a manager at Eagle-Picher plant in Joplin discriminated against the women. The complaint claims the manager made threats and refused to train new female employees. The commission says three of the women were unlawfully fired and others were retaliated against after coming forward about the manager`s actions. Eagle-Picher denies the charges.
