Gail Bass Resigns

A recently promoted Captain placed on paid leave just last week, announces his resignation from an area sheriff`s department. Captain Gail Bass with the Jasper County Sheriff`s Department was placed on paid leave Wednesday morning pending an internal investigation. Today, Bass told Jasper County Interim Sheriff Archie Dunn he was stepping down. Dunn refused to comment on the investigation last week saying it was a personnel matter. Today, Dunn said the investigation is over. Bass was a 14 year veteran of the department and was promoted from Lieutenant to Captin just last month. Reported By: Robin Rogers
