Four state police continue to search for a wanted felon. Police conducted a manunt last night in parts of South Joplin advising residents to lock their doors and stay inside. Larry Boan is still at large tonight. A representative from the U.S. Marshall`s office says fugitive Larry Boan is more than likely not in the area and has possibly fled to Jasper, Missouri or Barton County where he has friends and family.
Last night U.S. Marshalls tried to apprehend boan in the parking lot of freeman hosptial where police say he was visiting someone. Police say he assaulted a marshall and then fled on foot. Boan has a warrant for bond violations, felony firearms violations and possesing illegal narcotics. Police say they believe Boan lives in the Oronogo area. Last night they conducted a large search in the oak point subdivision in South Joplin.
Last night the Joplin Police Department activated the reverse 911 system. 14 hundred residents were called informing them of the fugitive in their neighborhood. Larry Boan is a white male, 5`10 inches tall. In his early 40s and last seen wearing a multi-colored cowboy shirt.
