Tony Coleman Speaks Out

A former sheriff`s captain who was acquitted of stealing money speaks out. Tony Coleman was acquitted last Friday of stealing money that was donated to the Salvation Army during the 2002 Route 66 Music Festival, but that`s not the only problem that has arisen for Coleman regarding the same festival. Coleman was also implicated in over billing for officer man hours worked during the festival. Even with all the turmoil and controversy surrounding his last months with the sheriff`s department, Coleman says he`d still return to the Jasper County Sheriff`s Office if given the chance. "I had such a love and a passion for my job and my career that i would go back tomorrow doing the same thing that i was doing. even with everything that`s happened, but that`s just an inside feeling. Whether or not that`ll ever happen you know, who knows," says Coleman. While Coleman says he`d love to continue in law enforcement he`s not sure that will be possible. He says if he ends up doing something else, so be it.
