Updated: January 7, 2009
A phonebook serving more than 170-thousand people is about to reach your home. And there`s a new addition to the SBC phonebook this year. The yellow pages section features a two page spread on homeland security guidelines. The emergency preparedness information was printed in support of the US Department of Homeland Security`s "be ready" campaign. The ad offers tips on assembling a supply kit, developing a family communication plan and staying informed. And when you receive your new phone book it`s time to get rid of the old ones. Through November 30th, there are designated places where you can drop your old phonebooks off. In joplin: The Joplin Chamber Of Commerce, All metro area Para-Transit System Busses, and the Joplin Recycling Center. In Carthage: The Fair Acres Family YMCA,and Ramey`s super market. The Neosho Regional Recycling Center in Neosho, and the Wal-Mart store in Lamar. In Pittsburg: At the Crawford Coutny citizens for recycling parking lot and the Wal-Mart store in Miami, Oklahoma.
