Updated: January 7, 2009
Four people are charged with drug trafficking following a Sheriff`s raid earlier this week. Elizabeth and Samuel Mitchell, along with Zane and Roberta Donaldson, remain in custody awaiting an arraignment hearing. Lieutenant Levins with the Newton County Sheriff`s Department says the other four individuals who were also arrested have been released. Sheriff`s officials say a thousand pounds of marijuana was found at the Mitchell and Donaldson homes in the Greenwood area south of Joplin. Lt. Levins says the case may go to federal court. Besides the drugs, officers also seized a large amount of cash, weapons, and vehicles. Reported By: Ryan Loyd
