I-44 Construction Delay

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
Rainy weather in the four states could prove costly for a Missouri construction company. Resurfacing and reuilding continues on the eight mile stretch of Interstate 44, just East of Joplin. A-pac Construction Company is handling the project. The company has until November 10th to complete the plan. If they do not finish, it will cost them ten thousand dollars for every day the project runs over deadline. However, if A-pac finishes early, they will be paid ten thousand dollars for each day before November tenth. The recent rain has slowed work down, but crews are almost finished asphalting. One of the final steps in construction will be switching traffic back to two lanes in both directions. Reported By: Tiffany Alaniz
