A Joplin man is behind bars for the stabbing of a 16-year old girl.
35-year old Cornell Harbin has been arrested for stabbing a juvenile.
Harbin is facing charges of felony assault, child abuse, and armed criminal action. Joplin police say they received a call just before 11-30 today saying two people had been involved in an altercation while driving a stolen maroon 1995 Nissan Altima. Police say Cornell was arguing with his girlfriend when the 16-year victim tried to break up the fight. Police say that`s when cornell stabbed the teenager in the leg. The teen was later treated and released. Meanwhile officers are searching for Cornell`s girlfriend 30-year old Christine Conrad who was released after giving police a false name. Police say she will be charged with providing false information to officers.
