Updated: January 7, 2009
A new heart procedure could give patients a few more years of life. St. John`s Hospital has begun performing a procedure call the ‘in sync. This product has the doctor place a small pulse generator inside the shoulder. The generator then sends out electronic pulses to the three areas of the heart. This results in the heart beating at a normal rate. Richard Walker just recently had the surgery done in March. Nearly five million Americans are afflicted with heart failure. This device has just been approved by the FDA.
