Thanksgiving $$$

Updated: January 7, 2009
Get out your checkbooks,it`s time to shop for Thanksgiving dinner. The missouri farm bureau has released its annual survey on the cost of a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. For ten guests, the survey checked average costs for a menu including a 16-pound turkey, pre-mixed dressing, peas, sweet potatoes, cranberries, carrot and celery sticks. Ready to bake rolls with real butter, pumpkin pie with real whipped cream for dessert, plus coffee and milk. The cost per person averaged 3 dollars and 33 cents, which is 34 cents higher than the same items last year. However, the farm bureau says this is still a low cost for such a feast, especially considering all of the leftovers. Reported By: Sheradee Hurst
