Car & Train Accident

Two people are rushed to the hospital early this afternoon following a collission with a train. The accident happened on East 32nd street and Davis Boulevard in Joplin this morning. Railroad workers say an elderly couple driving a van was trying to beat a train,which caused the collision. Witnesses say the van hit the front of the train. It took crews a few hours to clear the scene and traffic was backed up at least a half mile in both directions on 32nd street. The couple was transported to a local hospital this afternoon by ambulance. Their condition is not known at this time. Reported By: Ryan Loyd
