Stock Market Rebound

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
The Christmas season is shaping up to be bright for retailers. The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed again today above the 10-thousand mark. Yesterday was the first time in almost 19 months. A local investment representative says the positive turn in the job market as well as the economy is the reason for an up turn in stocks. And reaching this point has a huge impact on investors. "Somewhat important is the psychological impact of the dow hitting 10,000. We`ve been through some pretty difficult markets in teh last two and a half to three years and so this recovery of the Dow getting back to the ten thousand mark is pretty important for investor confidence,"said Eric Secker,Investment Represenative. Ssecker says it doesn`t suprise him that we`re reaching high levels in the stock market during the holiday shopping season. Reported By: Jennifer Grannan
