Updated: January 7, 2009
Local lawmakers speak about what Sadaam Hussein`s capture means for the future of our country. Both U.S. Senator Kit Bond and U.S. Congressman Roy Blunt spoke at Crowder College today about the significance of Hussein`s capture. Both lawmakers believe his capture shows other tyrants their behavior will not be tolerated. Senator Bond also says he hopes the capture will lead in increased intelligence. "Without Sadaam`s presence threatening iraqis they are muck more likely to share information they have and help us learn where weapons are stored and where the other top lieutenants of Sadaam Hussein may be hiding,"said Bond. Both Bond and Blunt say if the Iraqi people chose the death penalty for Sadaam they will support that decision. Reported By: Jennifer Grannan
