Cattlemen should prepare for more stringent safety measures. That`s the message from Republican Congressman Roy Blunt in a trip to the four-states today. Congressman Roy Blunt held a meeting on the Mad Cow problem, at the Springfield Livestock Marketing Center today. Blunt says U.S. agriculture officials are working to re-establish trade with more than two dozen countries that have blocked beef imports. But he warns it could lead to an increase in the number of animals tested, as well as an expansion of a ban on animal feed. Blunt says he`s certain the food supply is safe, but increased testing could reassure american consumers and foreign markets.
