A four state city names someone to serve as interim City Manager. The Joplin City Council didn`t have to look far to find an interim City Manager. Joplin Public Works Director Harold McCoy has been selected to serve as interim City Manager. Current City Manager Steve Lewis will be leaving for a similar post with the city of Lee`s Summit in Missouri later this month. McCoy will assume that post on January 19th for the fourth time. He previously served as interim City Manager in 1983, 1986 and 1994. Mayor Richard Russel says McCoy will provide continuity while the search for a permanent replacement continues. McCoy has been employed with the city for over forty-five years.
