An area escaped inmate tastes freedom for nearly 15 minutes before he is apprehended by police. Aurelio Reyes an inmate at the McDonald County jail escaped from police custody today while being transported from the courthouse back to the jail. The jailer escorting him says he broke free and ran through a residential neighborhood. He was spotted by city officials who notified police and apprehended Reyes a short time later.
Reyes has been in the McDonald County Jail since October 8th of last year. He has been charged with possession and distribution of cocaine as well as resisting arrest. McDonald County officers are requesting an additional charge of escape.
