Joplin Stabbing

A stabbing in downtown Joplin leaves a four-state teenager facing assault charges. 18-year old Alissa Henson has been accused of stabbing 19-year old Yolanda Smith in an incident at 12th and Byers Avenue last weekend. According to police the two had been involved in an argument earlier that evening at the Kage night club in Joplin. Smith suffered a stab wound and was transported to St. John`s Hospital. "The victim had just minor injuries. She did have a puncture wound to the stomach,but it was a non-life threatening injury. she was treated at a local hosptial," said Commander Jim Hounschell,Joplin Police Department. Henson is being held in the Jasper County jail on 15-thousand dollar bond. Reported By: Brad Douglas
