Area lawmakers meet with their constituents over breakfast to talk about issues important to you. The Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce hosted an eggs and issues breakfast. The event was held at Joplin City Hall. State Senator Gary Nodler, State Representative Ron Richard, and Bryan Stevenson were all on hand for the discussion. Issues being discussed were education funding, workers compensation, and road construction. More than one hundred people attended the meeting. "Because the work of the state government affects peoples lives and their future, education funding, are not matters of convenien their matters of everyday living.we deal with issue that build the foundation for the future of your children and grandchildren. you`re likely to take on interest,"said Senator Gary Nodler. "Its getting bigger. When I used to start going to these things years ago,it was about 8 people. Now there`s maybe 100 here. It shows the interest also shows off a unity of purpose with the legislature from our area. And our single minded effort to do something for this area. We`re working as a team. I think that is interesting to see and they`re probably not used to it,"said State Rep. Ron Richard. These meetings are planned monthly and one is already being planned for next February.
