Jasper County Voter Turnout

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
It may be a key election for Democrats, but most reports from area polling places say voter turn-out was low. In Jasper County one polling location allowed voters to cast their ballots at the Lafette house in Joplin. Election judges say they had only seen 20 voters in the first four hours they had been open. Election officials say they blame the cold weather and the lack of issues on the ballot for the low voter turn-out. If you still want to vote, you have about an hour left to do so. The polls close at seven o`clock. Reported By:Brad Douglas
