Jennifer Penate

Jennifer was born in El Salvador, Central America and raised in Rogers, Arkansas. She joined KODE in Semptember 2011 and is happy to call Joplin her new home.
Her passion for journalism started at a young age while watching international news. That became her passion and to become an international correspondent became her dream.
She is a 2011 graduate from The University of Arkansas with a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Spanish, which helped her perfect her native tongue.
During college she reported, produced and anchored for the campus news station, UATV.
She interned at the campus' University Relations department where she wrote press releases, features and helped produce videos.
She also interned at Fox 5 in Atlanta, Georgia where she worked with the Investigative Team. She was able to help uncover and report injustices in the Atlanta-metropolitan area.
A soccer lover, Jennifer enjoys dribbling the ball around on her free time or watching a soccer match on TV, especially if it involves F.C. Barcelona. She also enjoys running, reading and watching quirky shows about food and health.
