Joplin residents will see three news faces on the Joplin City Council.
In yesterday`s election Joplin voters picked three new people and one incumbent for City Council. Four positions were open, including two general seats. Newcomers Bob Harrington and Guy Palmieri came out victorious. However it was a tight race. Harrington had 1733 votes, but Palmieri edged passed incumbent Jim West by 30 votes. Both say they are excited to start their new jobs on the City Council. Current Mayor Richard Russell was also re-elected for the zone three seat. And incumbent John Thurman defeated incumbent appointee Vesta Grindstaff for the zone 2 post.
