Popcorn Trial Update

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
Another so called popcorn trial is underway in Joplin. Its the second in a series of lawsuits by workers who claim disabling lung injuries from butter flavoring used at a Jasper Missouri Popcorn factory. At the first trial last month, jurors awarded 20 million dollars to Eric Peoples of Carthage. The second plaintiff is 55 year old Linda Redman of Joplin. Redman says she needs a double lung transplant after working as a popcorn packer in 1995. Redman and peoples are among 30 former workers who filed suit against the flavoring makers.
