The Carthage Police Department begins preparing for one of the biggest events in the four states. After last year`s Marian Days celebration ended in a fatal stabbing,local officers are working to prevent similar tragedy. The department sent officer Bill Hawkins to the International Conference on Asian Crime held in Hawaii. Detective Hawkins hopes some of those contacts will return to Carthage this August and attend the marion days celebrations.
