SW City Police Update

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
A local law enforcer finds herself in trouble with the law. Southwest City, Missouri police deputy toi cannada was charged with driving under the influence two months ago. She was first fired from her duties by Southwest City Police Chief Ron Boudrey, but then rehired by the city council. Since being back on the force, she has not been able to drive a patrol car and instead has been driving her personal car for city business with the backing of the council. And some in the community who do not want to be identified say that driving a patrol car is a part of being a police officer. Southwest City Council member Mildred Easter Warner told KSN "residents are well pleased with Cannada and the council believes she is a very thorough and honest officer." Cannada is scheduled to be able to return to driving a patrol car July 2. Written By: Pricilla Mace
