Police Officers Among Those Being Called

Military reserve officers are being called up all over the country and some of them also happen to be police officers. The Joplin Police Department has six full time officers who are also in the reserves. Although none of them have been called to duty just yet, but the six could be called to active duty at a moments notice. Leaving quite a void in local law enforcement. The jobs need to be filled with the understanding that when the reserve officers return from duty they are by law entitled to their original position. Police and sheriff`s departments across the country are dealing with the manpower problems, but say all of their officers serve the country with the same pride they serve their department.
