Updated: January 7, 2009
School`s out for summer, and some parents are left wondering what to do with the kids. The Girl Scouts Council of the Ozarks is hosting "Discovery Days" to give kids something to do during the first few days of vacation. This three day event for girls is being held at ewert park in Joplin. Kids are able to play games, chow down on hot dogs and and learn about science. "It`s really fun. We try to concentrate on science and nature and different activities that the kids learn about in school, but they actually get hands on activities here. We want people to know Girl Scouts is not just about cookies and crafts and camping," said Wendi Murdock, Membership Specialist. The event will be held through Wednesday and will last from 7-30 a.m until 5-30 p.m. The cost is 25-dollars for three days or 10-dollars each day. For more information call the Girl Scouts at (417) 623-8277. Reported By: Brad Douglas
