Updated: January 7, 2009
You may have heard the old saying, ‘you have to get worse before you`ll get better. When it comes to treating Marfan Syndrome, that is true. Dr. Joseph Graham says a portion of the heart, a heart valve, and part, or all of the aorta must be removed and replaced with artificial components. But to do all that, Graham says patients must literally be frozen to death for about an hour.
